Your Responsibilities
In this remote SLI role, you will:
• Provide real-time ASL interpretation during virtual class sessions, small groups, and 1:1 student support
• Collaborate with school staff to schedule and deliver interpreting services aligned with IEP goals
• Ensure students are receiving full, accurate, and accessible interpretation across platforms
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while supporting student engagement
• Use virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.) effectively in a school-based environment
Requirements
To be considered, candidates must meet the following:
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong command of interpreting practices
• Certification – EIPA 3.5+, RID certification, or state-recognized credential required
• Bachelor’s degree in interpretation, deaf studies, or related field preferred
• Experience in remote/virtual settings strongly preferred
• Reliable internet connection and professional home workspace setup
• Must meet all Nebraska or relevant state requirements for school-based interpreting services
