Job Title: Entry Level Line Mechanic

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level candidate to join a dynamic team as a Line Mechanic. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced mechanics, allowing you to develop your skills in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities
• Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Conduct change overs on machinery, making necessary adjustments and setting up machines according to production runs.
• Repair, troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair filler equipment, conveyors, labelers, printers, and other machinery needed for filling, labeling, and packaging products in various size containers.
Essential Skills
• Basic mechanic skills and automotive repair knowledge.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Understanding of blueprints, troubleshooting, hydraulics, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• A great attitude and willingness to learn.
• Desire to grow with the company.
• Mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment

You will work on the 2nd shift, Monday to Thursday from 3:30pm to 2:30am, in a large chemical company facility with a fairly clean environment. Training will initially be conducted from 5am to 3:30pm, Monday to Thursday, for a period of 2-3 months.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chicago, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
