JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Morgan Academic Center is accepting applications for tutor positions for all subjects/levels. Applicants must have a (3.0) GPA or above and have earned at least an (A-) in the course(s) and/ have a commensurate academic background. Current Penn State sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students are preferred.
Responsibilities typically include scheduling appointments with assigned tutee(s) on a weekly basis, assessing assigned tutee(s) needs and tailoring tutorial support, accordingly, writing tutor reports following each session, attending trainings, and compliance with all policies/procedures. This position is limited to a maximum of (20) hours per week and is flexible to accommodate student schedules; however, hours are not guaranteed and may vary each week/semester, including the possibility of evenings and Sundays.
To be considered for this position, an application and cover letter must be submitted online. A resume can also be uploaded but is not required. Please include the following information in your cover letter: Your major, all Penn State course subjects/numbers you are interested in tutoring (available at public.lionpath.psu.edu), why you are interested in tutoring student athletes, any prior tutoring or teaching experience, and other qualifications you possess relevant to working as a tutor.
