Live Sports Data Scout (Multiple Openings) - NHL (On Site/Arena)
We are a sports-tech startup specializing in real-time performance analytics. We are currently building a nationwide network of Live Data Associates and are looking to hire one primary scout for every city with an NHL arena.
If you live within commuting distance of an NHL venue and have an elite "Hockey IQ," we want to hear from you. This is an ongoing gameday role for the remainder of the season and beyond.
The Mission:
This is not a traditional scouting or "fan" role. You are a human sensor responsible for Zero-Latency Event Verification. You will be narrating and logging game-state changes (goals, penalties, whistles) the exact millisecond they occur to verify our internal data engine against the live action.
Key Responsibilities:
Live Event Logging: Use a custom mobile interface to log scoring events with sub-second latency (reacting the moment the puck crosses the line).
Real-Time Narration: Maintain a continuous, succinct audio feed via Zoom to verify live action against our data streams.
Signal Management: Ensure a stable high-speed connection from inside the arena for the duration of the event.
Requirements:
Location: Must live in or near a city with an active NHL team and be able to attend home games regularly.
Hardware: Must own a modern smartphone (iPhone 14+ or equivalent) with a reliable 5G carrier (Verizon/AT&T preferred).
Power: Must have a portable power bank/battery pack capable of maintaining a 3-hour live stream.
Hockey IQ: Deep understanding of NHL rules and the ability to anticipate plays before they result in a whistle or goal.
Mental Endurance: Ability to maintain 100% focus on the puck in 20-minute increments with zero external distractions.
Compensation:
Flat Fee: $75-100 / game.
Performance Bonus: Opportunity for tips / bonus based on performance.
Expenses: Ticket and parking reimbursement provided for every game attended.
