Live Class K-8 Teacher

The International Virtual Learning Academy live course teacher is a highly qualified and experienced educator responsible for providing engaging live classes, creating structured weekly lesson plans, grading assignments, and tracking student progress and attendance. Teachers manage the learning process and focus on each student’s individual needs by closely monitoring student progress and providing help or intervention as needed to advance each student’s learning.

This teacher will teach multiple subjects in grade levels K-8 (based upon assignment)

Schedule for Live Classes- Must be able to teach the classes M-Th anywhere from 8AM- 11:30AM Pacific Standard Time.

Based on enrollment, must be available to teach a minimum of 4 live hours per week.

May be opportunities for more live classes in the future, based on enrollment.

Pay- $2,600 per live course

Start date: July 21, 2025

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Conduct live online classes using IVLA’s virtual learning platform.

· Develop and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with the curriculum.

· Work closely with and support a broad variety of domestic and international students.

· Provide asynchronous student facilitation and support.

· Monitor and track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

· Provide help, analysis of work, and answers to student questions in their subject area.

· Safeguard student records and adhere to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

· Assess and adapt based on the student ability/needs.

· Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

· Document communications in accordance with IVLA policy.

· Grade assignments and exams within 48 hours excluding weekends and holidays.

· Communicate with parents/guardians regularly through email, messaging and/or video conferencing about student progress and attendance.

· Adhere to timelines for grading, unlocking quizzes and assignments, and email and other communication responses in accordance with the IVLA policy.

· Assist administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student expectations and conduct.

· Maintain order during live sessions in a fair and just manner.

· Utilize online tools and technology to enhance student learning experiences.

· Submit monthly teacher reports.

· Attend monthly team meetings.

· Provide timely, effective and engaging feedback.

· Send welcome emails and set up new enrollments as detailed in the Teacher and Success Coach Handbook.

· Be proficient in assigned LMS.

· Review expiration report and close completed courses as needed.

· Encourage students to do their best and provide guidance on how best to succeed in the course.

· Foster academic achievement.

· Work closely with your team and contribute and collaborate with other staff members.

· Participate in professional development activities and stay up to date with current best practices in online teaching.

· Participate in other activities based on IVLA’s needs.

· Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and Teacher and Success Coach Handbook.

· Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.

· Teacher certification or licensure in relevant subject area(s).

· Experience in online teaching and virtual classroom management.

· Strong technology skills and proficiency in using online learning management systems, virtual whiteboards, and other digital tools.

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

· Robust communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and staff.

· Commitment to providing quality educational experiences that meet the needs of diverse learners.

· Ability to foster a positive and engaging virtual learning environment.

Working Conditions

· Work remotely from home or other location with reliable internet and phone access.

· Must provide own equipment and a quiet space.
