Life Science Sales Specialist

The Opportunity

Avantor is looking for a dedicated Technical Life Science Sales Specialist to Sell Life Science products and services to customers and act as a point of contact post-sale, focusing on ongoing customer satisfaction, retention, and growing business. In addition to face-to-face meetings, engage with customers over the phone and Internet (e.g., chat, email, video conferencing, etc.) to close sales and support clients.

This role will be a full-time, remote position, covering East of England. You will be responsible for maintaining relationships with accounts by visiting customer sites within assigned territory.

The team

Avantor's Life Science Sales Specialist is part of a team of 6 Life Science Sales Professional individuals that specialise in selling Life Science products and services to our customers.

What We're Looking For
• Experience in sales within the laboratory environment highly desirable
• PhD or Masters in one of the following areas : Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neurosciences, Biotechnology, Genetic, Immunology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biology, Structural Biology, Proteomic, Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy.
• Strong business development skills
• Knowledge of the local market
• Excellent team player
• Proficient in Excel
• Excellent communication/presentation skills
• Reliable and confident working with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and high-quality focus
• Ability to work under pressure and strong problem-solving skills.
• Commercially astute
• Full, clean UK driving license

How You Will Thrive And Create An Impact

Reporting to the Life Sciences Sales Manager, and within a dedicated team, in close collaboration with our internal and external sales teams, and marketing, you have full responsibility for your geographic area and customer portfolio, the development and monitoring of the results (sales and margin) of a selection of assigned Life Science products, equipment, and value-added services as part of a defined analytical processes (Workflow).

Focus Areas

Cell Culture, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Microscopy, Proteomics (Reagents, Filtration, Consumables, Instrumentation and Related Services)

Your responsibilities
• Organize according to needs and priorities, customer and prospect visits.
• Promote and sell the solutions for which you are responsible.
• Manage, develop and retain a diverse clientele.
• Provide technical support for the realization of ongoing business of field and Inside Sales Account Managers (training, information, customer support, demonstrations, training)
• Analyze and share market trends and initiatives (customers, competitors, suppliers)
• Analyze and forecast the purchasing plans of its customers.
• Organize customer site events (Seminars, Workshops, Users Days) to technically present specific applications.
• Maintain activity and opportunity data in the CRM.
• The Hiring Manager will also consider Candidates operating in the following areas with the willingness to develop a Sales career:

Genomics, Genotyping, Imaging, Microscopy, Cell Culture, Cell Engineering, Flow Cytometry, Protein Purification, Sequencing***
