Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Nurse to join our academic healthcare team in Elmira, New York. The Nurse will play a vital role in providing health support to a student, ensuring their well-being, and creating a safe and nurturing environment for learning.
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Location: Elmira, New York
Job Type: Full-time, 32 hrs/wk
Responsibilities:
ā¢ Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the school physician and in accordance with state regulations
ā¢ Responsibilities will include tracheotomy support, together with suctioning as needed, monitoring oxygen saturation levels and for signs and symptoms of respiratory distress, and provide nursing interventions as stated in the students health care plan.
Qualifications:
ā¢ Valid LPN, LVN or CSN license in New York
ā¢ Experience as an LVN/LPN in a healthcare or school setting preferred
ā¢ Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff
ā¢ Knowledge of pediatric health needs and common childhood illnesses
