The role involves managing the lawyer departure process, coordinating office transfers, and providing general support for attorney transitions and leaves.ResponsibilitiesHandles administrative aspects of lawyer departure processCoordinates logistics related to transfers between officesProvides general administrative support related to attorney leaves and transitions to alternative work arrangementsDrafts and responds to employment verification requestsAnswers phones and troubleshoots questionsAssists with heavy volume of Legal Personnel confidential filingMaintains various tracking charts related to department processesReviews and analyzes different sections of the Legal Personnel budget on a monthly basisConducts tours for large start date groups in addition to one-off hires and visits from London associatesCoordinates delivery of special items to associates (e.g., new hire gift, flowers)Supports special projects, as neededPerforms other duties, as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree with high academic standing preferredAt least one year of related administrative work experience preferredAbility to work and interact with attorneys at all levels and the ability to gain strong knowledge of the Firm, its culture, practices and policiesAbility to deal discreetly with confidential informationExcellent writing and communication skills, in addition to superior judgmentProficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other Legal Personnel (including PeopleSoft) and applications built specifically for the FirmAbility to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one timeCapable of solving problems and meeting deadlinesAbility to work overtime, as neededBachelor's degree with high academic standingAt least one year of related administrative work experienceBenefitsPaid time offMedicalDentalVision care401(k)Substantial health club discountsCompany OverviewCravath has been known as one of the premier U.S. law firms for two centuries.
