Legal Administrative Professional I - Sentencing Unit (Internal Applicants Only)

King County is seeking a Legal Administrative Professional I for the Sentencing Unit within the Prosecuting Attorney's Office. This role involves coordinating sentencing cases, preparing legal documents, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient case management. Responsibilities Responsible for coordination of all cases pending sentencing Prepare and deliver sentencing packets to DPAs Works with the Superior Court Sentencing Coordinator to schedule weekly sentencing calendars Prepares the monthly Sentencing Assignment Calendar, ensuring accurate scheduling and distribution Provides pre-sentence reports to Court and defense counsel Oversees DNA collection procedures Completes a post-sentencing checklist on Monday including providing notice of newly set review hearings, providing copies to Records and Department of Corrections Provides regularly scheduled front desk coverage for receptionist breaks, lunch, and absences Prepares J&S paperwork for Plea/Sentencings Point person for copy machine repair and supplies on the West Wing Resolving monthly PBK Lagging list Run JABS criminal history for DPAs Actively participate in PAO equity work, attending equity trainings and discussions Skills Knowledge of the criminal justice system and general office principles and practices Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal directions Strong organizational skills and ability to complete a variety of tasks in an accurate manner with frequent interruptions Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and to assume unscheduled and unexpected responsibilities Ability to work independently or as part of a team, exercising initiative, and following through with work assignments Customer service skills in person and via telephone (discretion, patience, etiquette, professionalism) Skill in using computers and the ability to become proficient in the use of database programs such as PbK (with training), Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro Demonstrated predictable, reliable, and timely attendance Ability to accept supervision and feedback Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with management, co-workers, attorneys, law enforcement and the public Active participation in PAO equity work, attending equity trainings and discussions, support for the PAO's Race, Equity and Social Justice policy and principles, work with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement Benefits Excellent medical, dental, and vision coverage options: King County provides eligible employees with options, so they can decide whatโ€™s best for themselves and their eligible dependents Life and disability insurance: employees are provided basic coverage and given the opportunity to purchase additional insurance for both the employee and eligible dependents Retirement: eligible King County employees may participate in a pension plan through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems and a 457(b) deferred-compensation plan Transportation program and ORCA transit pass 12 paid holidays each year plus two personal holidays Generous vacation and paid sick leave Paid parental, family and medical, and volunteer leaves Flexible Spending Account Wellness programs Onsite activity centers Employee Giving Program Employee assistance programs Flexible schedules and telecommuting options, depending on position Training and career development programs Company Overview King County is one of the best places to work in Washington and one of the state's largest employers with 14,000 dedicated employees.
