Our client, a pioneering organization in scientific innovation, is seeking a highly accomplished Lead Research Scientist specializing in Bioinformatics to join their fully remote research and development team. This role is at the forefront of discovery, where you will leverage your expertise in computational biology to drive groundbreaking research initiatives. This is a remote position, open to candidates across the US who are passionate about advancing scientific knowledge.

Your responsibilities will include designing and executing complex bioinformatics analyses to interpret large-scale genomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic datasets. You will develop and implement novel algorithms and computational methods to address critical research questions. Collaboration with experimental biologists, clinicians, and other scientists to integrate computational findings with biological insights is crucial. You will lead bioinformatics projects, mentor junior scientists, and contribute to grant writing and publications. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest advancements in bioinformatics, computational biology, and relevant scientific fields is essential. Ensuring data integrity, reproducibility, and efficient management of large datasets will also be key.

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. A minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral research experience in bioinformatics is required, with a proven track record of impactful research and publications. Expertise in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics (e.g., Python, R, Perl) and experience with relevant bioinformatics tools, databases, and software packages are essential. Strong statistical and analytical skills, along with experience in machine learning and data visualization, are highly desirable. Excellent communication and leadership skills are necessary to effectively lead a research team and collaborate with diverse scientific groups. This role is 100% remote, and we are looking for highly motivated individuals who can thrive in an independent research environment.
