Lead Dental Assistant/Radiographer
About the position Responsibilities • Take digital intra-oral and extra oral radiographic imaging including cone beam computed tomography and various views in analog/film and digital formats. • Review radiographs within established guidelines. • Process and route imaging related materials. • Greet, screen, and direct patients, confirming their authorization for radiographic examinations. • Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dental students. • Assign patients to dental students according to guidelines. • Monitor the collection of instruments and dispense supplies and materials. • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and adhere to quality and safety standards, including proper recycling and disposal of infectious materials. • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations. Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene preferred. • 2+ years of related experience required; graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program. • Certification as a Dental Assistant is required. • Knowledge of four-handed chairside dental techniques and dental lab equipment is essential. • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate standard office equipment are required. Nice-to-haves • NYSDOH approved CBCT training for dental assistants. • Valid New York State Radiology Technology license or Dental Hygiene license.
