Key Responsibilities

As a lawyer at Medway Legal Services, you will be expected to:


Carry a caseload of matters in proceedings and pre-proceedings
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients
Draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
Represent clients in court and tribunals
Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals
Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practices


Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:


A valid solicitor's qualification or barrister's qualification
Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in the public sector
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Preferred qualifications include:


Experience in childcare law, contracts law, or property law
Knowledge of the public procurement regime
Experience working in a local authority or similar environment


Skills and Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
