Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide native language support and instructional assistance to newcomer students in all subject areas
Assist teachers in preparing materials, administering tests, and implementing instruction plans
Provide supplemental interpreting and translation services for multilingual students and families
Help newcomer students build a positive self-image and promote cultural awareness and sensitivity
Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including lunchroom/playground duty
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
No experience required, but experience working with school-age children preferred
Proficiency in English and a second language (such as Spanish or Dari/Pashto/Farsi) required
Criminal background check required for hire
First Aid certification preferred
