Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced In-Person Test Prep Tutor to join our team in Illinois. As a tutor with Applerouth, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives, helping them achieve their academic goals and build confidence in their abilities. Our company is dedicated to providing a supportive and dynamic learning environment that fosters growth and success for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one, in-home test prep tutoring to students in the Chicago metro area (Chicago, Evanston, Winnetka, Glenview, Highland Park)
Develop and implement personalized learning plans to help students achieve their goals
Utilize extensive knowledge of the SAT and ACT, as well as pedagogical strategies, to tutor students effectively
Participate in paid training and regular supplemental training to stay up-to-date on changes to tests and pedagogy
Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
Empathy, creativity, strong communication skills, and a desire to help others
Reliable transportation and high-speed internet
Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus
SAT, ACT, or other standardized test scores
At least one year of college
Access to reliable transportation (many sessions will take place in students' homes or a mutually amenable location)
