You will work independently, using your analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair complex issues. You will also work closely with senior experts and managers to ensure that our fleet is running smoothly and safely. **Key Responsibilities:** * Analyze vehicle and equipment malfunctions, disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as needed * Complete oil and filter changes * Take guidance from senior experts and managers * Use PC-based diagnostics to interact with modern truck interfaces * Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment * Answer roadside calls * Maintain accurate records of vehicle and equipment maintenance * Perform daily pre-trip inspections and complete necessary reports * Maintain and repair fleet gear * Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless operations **Essential Capabilities:** * High school diploma or equivalent * Valid driver's license * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds * Ability to reach, lift, carry, move, and bend (without accommodation) * Ability to communicate effectively in English * Basic computer skills (email and internet browser) * Familiarity with safety maintenance programs * Working knowledge of hydraulic and air brake systems * Essential PC skills * Experience with preventive maintenance programs and activities (oil changes, documentation of work completed, tracking miles and usage hours, identifying and fixing defects) **Preferred Qualifications:** * Past experience working under close supervision (performing work independently, working from a distance from direct manager) * Past experience working outdoors (making roadside decisions, answering breakdowns, working in outdoor garages) * Past experience with shift work (being available on call, every-minute-of-every-day accessibility, second/third shift work, flexible workweeks) * Past experience using shop equipment (motor cranes, welding, replacing tires, small tools) * Formal training in a technical field (e.g., certification program, military training, technical/junior college) **Work Environment and Culture** As a Fleet Material Handling Technician at blithequark, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
