As an Affordable Clean Energy Plan Implementation Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our Senior Director for Federal Climate and Clean Energy Solutions in driving action-oriented research, preparing advocacy-focused briefs, and developing campaign materials to promote the benefits of the historic Inflation Reduction Act. You will be part of a dynamic Fall 2024 internship cohort, with access to development opportunities, including a Capstone project, informational interviews with staff, and organization-wide training and discussions.
Key Responsibilities and Opportunities:
Conduct action-oriented research to support grassroots climate and clean energy campaigning
Synthesize policy documents and translate them into grassroots-facing policy and messaging documents
Understand strategic pathways for engaging policymakers to champion climate and clean energy solutions
Center equity in clean energy advocacy and promote environmental justice
Requirements and Qualifications:
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong research skills, solid judgment, and critical thinking abilities
Able to work independently and as a team, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
Demonstrated awareness of racial justice and equity competencies, with a commitment to continual learning and cultural responsiveness
Passion for environmental protection and social justice, with a strong understanding of how environmental issues intersect with racism, economic, and social inequality
