International Tax Leader

Overview: The Bonadio Group is seeking an accomplished and visionary professional to lead the development and expansion of our International Tax Practice. This senior leadership role will be responsible for setting strategic directions, while overseeing the delivery of high-impact international tax advisory and compliance services, managing a team of skilled professionals, and serving as a key subject matter expert for clients and firm professionals across a wide range of industries. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, extensive leadership experience, strong business development capabilities, and a passion for developing talent within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership and Development o Define and execute a strategic vision to grow and position our firm's International Tax Practice as a leader in the market. o Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic approach to practice growth and innovation. o Cultivate and expand client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing client relationships and creating go-to-market strategies. o Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations to elevate our market presence. o Collaborate across service lines to deliver integrated, value-added solutions. Technical Expertise and Client Advisory o Advise middle-market and privately held businesses across diverse industries on a broad range of international tax issues. o Monitor and interpret legislative, treaty, and regulatory developments impacting global business. o Foster a thought leadership strategy that ensures the firm and our clients remain informed and agile. o Participate in regular professional development activities to remain at the forefront of international tax trends. o Maintain proficiency with tax research platforms and relevant technology. Client Service and Relationship Management o Lead complex cross-border tax engagements and provide technical direction on global tax matters. o Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on international tax planning, compliance, and risk management. o Build and sustain long-term client relationships through exceptional service delivery. o Anticipate client needs and develop innovative, practical solutions to complex issues. Team Leadership and Development o Lead, mentor, develop and expand a high-performing international tax team. o Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. o Oversee resource planning, team development, training, and succession planning. Compliance and Quality Assurance o Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and professional standards. o Uphold the highest levels of quality, integrity, and risk management in client deliverables. o Establish best practices to safeguard the firm's reputation. Required Qualifications: • CPA, JD, or equivalent credential • A minimum of twelve years of public accounting experience with a focus on international tax planning and compliance, for inbound and outbound entity structures across various industries. • Proven track record of leadership, practice growth, and business development. • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. international tax laws, transfer pricing, and tax treaties. • Experience with cross-border transactions, M&A, intellectual property, and supply chain planning. • Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities. • Demonstrated success in developing client relationships and managing a significant portfolio of international engagements. • Ability to translate complex tax concepts into actionable advice for clients and internal stakeholders. • Strong leadership, team building and mentoring skills. • Ability to travel to support firm objectives, client engagements, and practice development. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's in Taxation (MTax, MST) or Master's in Law (LL.M.) Hours of Operation: • Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday • Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday • We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however, the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times At The Bonadio Group, we believe that an inclusive work environment allows all of our people to achieve their greatest potential and the greatest results for our clients and communities.
