Intern - Social Media/ Documentary Production

AFTER HOURS PRODUCTIONS, led by acclaimed filmmaker Joshua Zeman (CROPSEY, Netflix's SONS OF SAM, MURDER MOUNTAIN, Amazon's THE KILLING SEASON, Hulu's THE LONELIEST WHALE, Tribeca 2024's CHECKPOINT ZOO), is seeking a highly organized and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team.

If you are knowledgeable of social media algorithms and best practices, and interested in documentary production/true crime, this is the perfect opportunity to gain professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Designing a consistent upload schedule across all social platforms with posts that tie-in to relevant dates, releases, screenings, and other developments in our documentary projects.

- Assist in copywriting for social and web platforms.

- A background in design is preferred to aid in the designing and creation of social media graphics.

- Liaising with social media teams from partner companies/festivals.

- Various administrative work related to our social platforms, such as reviewing and tracking analytics and coordinating with the rest of our team.

Time Commitment:

2-3 days per week (10-20 hours). Normal daytime hours, but can be adjusted for the applicant's respective timezone.

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: October 2025 (Flexible)

Qualifications:

PREFERRED BUT NOT NECESSARY:

- Experience managing a social media presence for an established brand.

- Knowledge of social media algorithms and SEO.

- Basic graphic design and video editing experience.

- Interest in documentary filmmaking/true crime.

NECESSARY:

- Proficiency in Google Drive, Slack, and phone-based communication.

- Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.

- Highly organized.

- Strong writing and communication skills.

As a small team of independent filmmakers, our interns get the opportunity to learn all facets of film development, production, and distribution, and are intimately involved in the process. This is an unpaid, fully remote position. Reference: ECNJOBID-66-249-69-232 in the application
