This position provides hands-on experience that utilizes your academic skills and helps refine your future career aspirations. You will have the opportunity to learn how Allegiant operates its information security operations program for the airline, while working in an inclusive atmosphere that encourages growth and provides valuable one-on-one time with highly skilled senior operations analyst in the industry. They will guide you as you learn by doing, helping you rapidly acquire new skill sets and refine your career trajectory.During your internship, you will learn first-hand how operations integrate with other parts of the organization, giving you a comprehensive understanding of the entire operations role and processes. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.Education: High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor's Degree recent graduate or currently pursuing degree an accredited program. Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Compliance, or closely related program. To be qualified to apply intern candidates should be currently enrolled in a college or university, or a recent graduate within the last six months with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.•Self-motivated and hard-working.•Strong critical thinking skills.•Excellent attention to detail.•Basic understanding of technology.Preferred Requirements•Degree in Information Assurance, Information Security or Compliance.Job Duties•Monitor SIEM, EDR, and network tools to detect and investigate anomalies.•Participate in containment, eradication, and recovery efforts for security incidents.•Perform digital forensics and log analysis to identify root causes.•Perform vulnerability scans, prioritize remediation, and track progress against SLAs.•Continuously review and monitor threat intelligence feeds.•Support penetration testing activities and collaborate with IT teams to patch critical risks.•Conduct threat hunting using MITRE ATT&CK and OSINT techniques.•Analyze and respond to phishing reports.•Assist with aligning operations with NIST CSF, PCI DSS, and ISO 27001 standards.•Document incidents, create SOPs, and report metrics to leadership.•Learn about various detective controls in AWS environment.•Gain hands-on experience in Allegiant's Information Security Operations team to better understand how enterprise programs are implemented.•Become knowledgeable of Agile cadences and participation.•Work with senior operations analysts to refine skills and career trajectory.•Develop a comprehensive understanding of the information security operations processes.•Gain the necessary mindset to drive innovation in information security programs.•Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing direction.•Other duties as assigned.Physical RequirementsThe Physical Demands and Work Environment described here are a representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
