Job Title: Interim Controller Location: remote with restrictions- Brookfield, WI Duration: 18-Month + Consulting Role with Potential Extension Reports To: Chief Financial Officer About the Role We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller to lead financial operations during a period of organizational transition. This 18-month assignment offers a unique opportunity to shape and stabilize core financial processes while working closely with executive leadership. The Interim Controller will oversee Accounting, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable, ensuring compliance with GAAP and supporting strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage Accounting, Procurement, AP, and AR teams. • Oversee internal controls and accounting policy development. • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close and financial reporting. • Prepare financial statements and KPI reports for executive and board-level review. • Administer banking relationships, wire transfers, and cash management. • Monitor liquidity and short-term investments. • Support financial planning during restructuring or affiliation changes. • Represent Finance in cross-functional committees and initiatives. • Mentor finance team leaders and foster professional development. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred. • Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience, including 4+ years in a supervisory role. • Proven experience in healthcare or other regulated industries. • Experience with organizations of .100M+ in size. • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred). Work Environment • Onsite presence required in Brookfield, WI for the first few months. • Potential for remote flexibility later in the assignment. • Occasional local and overnight travel may be required. • Direct exposure to the CFO and opportunity to report to the Board of Directors. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $95.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
