Integration Engineer (FHIR/API – Health Insurance)

Razor is looking for an Integration Engineer with FHIR/API experience who designs, develops, and supports FHIR‐based APIs for Eligibility, Prior Authorization, Bulk Data, and DocumentReference workflows within a health insurance interoperability ecosystem.
Education & Certification Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
No certifications required; none preferred.
100% Remote
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy FHIR APIs
• Build and maintain API clients and integration interfaces
• Configure/manage API gateways
• Implement secure authentication: OAuth2, SMART on FHIR, mTLS
• Develop logging, monitoring, and error handling frameworks
• Support provider onboarding and certification
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and infrastructure teams
• Troubleshoot integration issues
• Contribute to API documentation and implementation guides
Qualifications
• 3+ years API/system integration experience
• HL7 FHIR R4 experience
• RESTful API development in healthcare
• Strong understanding of OAuth2, OIDC, SMART on FHIR, mTLS
• Experience with API gateways (Apigee, Kong, AWS, etc.)
• Experience with JSON, XML, healthcare data standards
• Familiarity with CMS Interoperability & Prior Auth regulations
Desired Skills
• Payer‐side interoperability experience
• Knowledge of X12 (270/271, 278)
• Experience with Bulk FHIR workflows
• Cloud‐native development (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• CI/CD and DevOps experience
