Responsibilities:
As an Instructional Tutor, you will:
Provide individualized and group tutoring to students in non-STEM related subjects, including Biology, Composition, Engineering, English, Languages, and Writing
Assist students in analyzing assignments, interpreting discipline-specific problems, and clarifying critical thinking and communication skills
Support students working in online formats and provide guidance on effective learning strategies
Collaborate with instructors and other tutors to develop and implement tutoring strategies and materials
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and knowledge
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will:
Have a high school diploma or equivalent, with completion of courses in the subject area(s) to be tutored
Have a strong academic record, with a minimum average decimal grade of 3.5 or higher in the subject area(s) to be tutored
Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Be able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing situations and priorities
Be committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the higher education environment
