Visit imslegal.com for more.JOB SUMMARY:The Accounting Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, overseeing core processes, financial reporting, and a small team of accounting professionals. This role is both hands-on and people focused, requiring strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-centric approach. The Accounting Manager partners closely with leadership, HR, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financials, operational efficiency, and scalability during growth and acquisition activity.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead and support the monthly close process, including preparation and review of financial statements, general ledger activity, and customized management reportsPerform variance analysis and provide clear insights to leadershipOversee and review balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and complianceSupervise and support accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsOversee selected collections activities, partnering with ownership on complex collection mattersSupervise, coach, and develop accounting staff (1â2 direct reports), fostering accountability and continuous improvementPartner with Human Resources on payroll processing and benefit-related reportingAssist with tax preparation activities as needed, in collaboration with internal and external tax resourcesSupport annual audit activities, including preparation of schedules and auditor coordinationContribute to acquisition, integration, and business transformation initiatives, including systems and process integrationCOMPETENCIES:Strong command of GAAP and accrual-based accountingExperience supporting or leading ERP implementations and system enhancementsAdvanced Excel skills with strong financial reporting capabilitiesDetail oriented with a continuous improvement mindsetSKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Proven experience performing detailed financial and numerical analysisStrong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentClear and professional written and verbal communication skillsPrior people management or supervisory experience preferredEDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:8+ years of experience in full cycle accounting or full charge bookkeeping.
