Reports to: Director of Teaching and Learning and Building Administrators

Starting Date: October 23, 2023or Soon Thereafter

Qualifications: CT Certificates 111
Endorsement 092 ? Intermediate Administration or Supervision preferred, but not required
Endorsement 018 ? French, Grades 7 ? 12 highly desirable, Endorsement 023 ? Spanish, Grades 7 ? 12 desirable
A minimum of 5 years demonstrated success as a classroom teacher in the subject area
Demonstrated skills in leading professional learning at all levels, written communications and presentations to professional colleagues and community stakeholders are essential.

Experience: Seeking a candidate that is well-versed in current best practices in World Language pedagogy and language acquisition for English Language Learners
Demonstrated experience with curriculum review and revision aligned with ACTFL Guiding Principles required
Experience with appropriate content technology integration and mastery-based learning preferred. Proven communication, systems thinking, and leadership ability a must.

Duties: Implements, evaluates and revises World Language Program 3 -12 and Multilingual /EL supports K ? 12 in partnership with the Director of Teaching and Learning , Principals and a strong team of department faculty
Engages in the RSD 10 Instructional Coaching model in support of pedagogical best practices within dept.
Participates in regular leadership and decision-making with the Director of Teaching and Learning, building administrators, and fellow content-area Coordinators in the advancement of district-wide goals
Instructor of no more than two class sections in accordance of the Coordinator contract of RSD 10
Conducts department meetings/ PLCs focused on student growth, building teacher capacity, data analysis, and embedded cultural understandings of world languages
Discerns ongoing curricular, instructional, and pedagogical needs at all three levels (elem, middle, high)
Assists in analyzing data and student performance as an element of continuous improvement efforts
Participates in the hiring and support of new staff under the direction of building principals
Prepares K ? 12 budgets for the discipline, develops inventory control and monitors materials/supplies as part of budgeting
Designs and delivers professional learning opportunities in the discipline as a component of Coordinator leadership
Remains current in regard to the latest CT standards, programs, materials and methods used in the instruction of World Language through professional literature and attendance at professional meetings and shares new learning with faculty
Participates in developing state/local reports in assigned subject area as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned by building principals and Director of Teaching and Learning
