Key Job Details:Position: Require K To 14 ACAD PREP SPEC 4Company: San Francisco, CALocation: RemoteStart Date: Immediate openings availableCompensation: a competitive salary  Job title: K to 14 ACAD PREP SPEC 4 Company: San Francisco State University Job description : Job Summary Under the supervision and direction of the Program Supervisor, the Coordinator/Counselor will be responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of the San Joaquin Valley's California Medicine Scholars Program (SJV-CMSP) curriculum and program activities. The Coordinator/Counselor will also establish new organizational relationships with K-12, community college, university, and clinical partners in the San Joaquin Valley, to ensure that all stakeholders are involved in the curricular design and implementation process. The Coordinator/Counselor will have a strong background in social determinants of health and be required to balance coordination duties with counseling support for scholars. The counseling duties will require advanced knowledge of college & career advising course planning across 15 institutions of higher education, as well as principles of social-emotional development to support pre-health students as they navigate the healthcare pathway. The Coordinator/Counselor will be responsible for training clinical mentors and supervising SJV-CMSP college students in their clinical placements. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies Advanced knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population. Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status Advanced knowledge of K-12 and higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid and scholarship requirements, and matriculation processes Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts. Ability to develop outreach programs, and design effective materials Advanced knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements Advanced knowledge of youth and adolescent development theory, including issues facing low-income, first generation and urban youth Ability to prioritize work assignments and manage multiple critical projects with deadlines.
