Key Responsibilities Technical Visionary: Lead the design and execution of the AI Lab's technical architecture, encompassing hardware, software, and networking components to support diverse AI research and educational activities. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with faculty, students, and industry partners to understand and fulfill the evolving technical needs of the lab, ensuring it remains a premier resource for AI research and education. Strategic Roadmap Development: Formulate and maintain a comprehensive strategic roadmap for the AI Lab, aligning with the institution's long-term objectives in AI research and education. Innovation and Adoption: Work with stakeholders to identify and adopt new technologies, tools, and methodologies that enhance the lab's capabilities and support cutting-edge AI research. Security, Stability, and Scalability: Ensure the security, stability, and scalability of the lab's AI systems and infrastructure, safeguarding against potential threats and performance issues. Leadership and Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and support junior technical staff, fostering their growth and expertise in addressing complex technical challenges related to AI and high-performance computing. Budget Management: Oversee budgetary considerations and procurement for all technical resources necessary for the lab, ensuring effective use of resources. Essential Qualifications and Skills To excel in this role, you should possess: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline . A Master's degree is preferred, highlighting a strong foundation in computer science and IT principles. Over 7 years of extensive experience in IT infrastructure design and management, particularly in areas related to AI, high-performance computing, or cloud environments. Proven track record of leading and managing technical projects from inception to successful execution, demonstrating your ability to drive projects forward. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Linux-based operating systems , particularly Debian distributions. Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration. In-depth knowledge of AI frameworks , GPU computing , and data center operations . Leadership and Soft Skills: Strong leadership abilities with proven skills in effective communication and project management across diverse teams. Ability to collaborate with faculty, students, and industry stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your candidacy: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their AI/ML services.
