Job Summary
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Head Start Teacher Assistant to support our educational team at one of our four elementary sites: Drager, Addison, Hudson, or Michener. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of our students. Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the unique needs of each child
Support teachers in observing and providing feedback on children's progress and development
Assist with the execution of lesson plans and activities that promote learning and engagement
Observe and document children's activities and interactions to inform instruction and support individualized planning
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to health, nutrition, and education
Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education
Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and community partners
Support the recruitment and enrollment of eligible children and families to ensure continuous full enrollment
Adhere to program policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and quality


Essential Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or willingness to obtain within two years of hire
Experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build positive relationships with colleagues and families
Basic math skills and ability to apply mathematical concepts in a practical setting
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret program policies and procedures
Ability to write clearly and concisely in accordance with program policies and procedures


Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Experience with Creative Curriculum or other early childhood education programs
Knowledge of current research and theory in early childhood education
Ability to apply knowledge of child development and learning theories in a practical setting
Experience with data entry and record-keeping preferred
