Join an exciting new entertainment venture as a freelance illustrator for an ongoing zombie comic series. This role is ideal for a creative professional with a passion for visual storytelling, strong character work, and the ability to convey emotion and action through polished, stylized comic art. You will collaborate closely to establish a distinctive visual identity for the project, starting with a paid test or sample piece, with the potential for ongoing work if the collaboration is successful. The comic is structured as vertical digital episodes, each comprising 9–12 panels, and draws inspiration from contemporary webcomics in the horror and survival genres. Responsibilities • Create expressive, cinematic comic illustrations that capture action, emotion, and atmosphere. • Maintain character consistency and visual continuity across episodes. • Interpret scripts and storyboards to deliver clear, engaging sequential art. • Collaborate on developing a unique visual style for the franchise. • Deliver polished digital artwork suitable for vertical webcomic formats. • Incorporate feedback and iterate on designs as needed. • Meet deadlines for episodic releases. Skills And Requirements • Proven experience illustrating comics, with a strong portfolio demonstrating sequential storytelling and character design. • Expertise in digital illustration tools such as Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, or Procreate. • Ability to match a professional, stylized look and adapt to provided references. • Strong understanding of composition, pacing, and visual narrative. • Experience with horror, action, survival, or dramatic genres is highly desirable. • Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback. • Reliable availability for ongoing collaboration. • Must provide examples of previous comic or webcomic work.
