SUMMARY:

The Payroll/HR Specialist is responsible for managing full-cycle payroll processing for the organization's employees, ensuring tasks are completed promptly and in compliance with regulations. This role plays a vital part in the company's human capital management strategy by supporting a range of HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits administration, and record-keeping.

This is a hybrid role located in Chesterfield, MO.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Process payroll and maintain payroll and compensation records on a multi-site basis for the US.
• Administer multiple benefit plans (including health, 401k, disability, COBRA, etc.) for multiple locations across the U.S. to include but not limited to enrollments, change reporting, policy renewals, reconciliation, audits, maintaining statistical data and communicating benefit information to employees.
• Maintain the HRIS database; compile reports, ad-hoc reports, and analyze data as needed.
• Prepare manual payroll checks as required relating to payroll errors and or terminations.
• Process quarterly bonus payments.
• Prepare wire transfers.
• Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.
• Ensure accurate completion and recordkeeping of new hire paperwork.
• Maintain accurate records and file reports as required by law.
• Prepare supporting payroll documentation for workers compensation.
• Respond to company-wide employment verifications and unemployment claims.
• Update all payroll related SOPs as needed for changes in process, roles, and software application.
• Keep up to date with changing payroll policies and government regulations and apply changes when needed.
• Work effectively in a team-based environment supporting multiple manufacturing locations (union and non-union).
• Handle and secure confidential employee benefit and health information, data and/or files.
• Perform duties related to applicant processing and pre-employment activities.
• Exhibit strong customer service skills in advising employees at all levels of the organization.
• Perform other duties as required/assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong analytical, mathematical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team, as well as ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with a diverse team.
• Ability to maintain strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills and extremely detail oriented; ability to stay focused in an extremely active office environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with particular attention to confidentiality. This includes written, verbal, and presentation skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate's degree is required in business, human resources, or a similar field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years required experience processing payroll and benefits administration preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience is required with the ADP payroll system or comparable automated payroll system.
• Proven work experience with multi-state, multi-entity payroll is preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll taxes preferred.
• General knowledge of payroll operations and HRIS database management required.
