Human Resources Specialist - Remote
Overview
A Washington, D.C. based government contracting firm is seeking an internal Human Resource and Payroll Specialist to run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including on-boarding / off-boarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices as well as process payroll and maintain employee time records.

Ā Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with training and assessments.
Ā Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Ā Administers human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave.
Ā Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees.
Ā Maintains compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Ā Processes payroll information and ensures proper deductions.
Ā Records and processes payroll tax deposits.
Ā Maintains knowledge of HR trends and best practices.
Ā Performs other duties as assigned.

Ā Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ā Ability to learn HRIS and payroll software quickly.
