HSS Orthopedics Now - Office Manager (Hybrid)
About the position
Responsibilities
• Pre-appointment preparations to help expedite visits and redirect inappropriate patients as necessary.
• Coordinate and directly schedule patient referrals to MDs, PT, Advanced Imaging Services.
• Complete MRI authorizations for patients obtaining images at non-HSS facilities.
• Screen incoming messages from patients and internal departments.
• Obtain results and upload to patient's chart for follow-up provider review.
• Monitor and track patient referral patterns to ensure next appointments are scheduled.
• Manage timekeeping and assist with provider vacation coverage to ensure session coverage.
• Data gathering and analysis to support program leadership.
• Monitor patient satisfaction scores, and escalate as appropriate.
• Confirm final radiology imaging reports are reviewed by providers and encounters are closed.
Requirements
• Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree highly desirable.
• 5-7 years physician office experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and pragmatic; continuously seeking professional growth opportunities.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with ability to derive practical solutions independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must follow through with assignments to completion, going above and beyond for critical tasks and for patient care needs.
• Adherence to patient privacy and HIPAA protection of data, information per HSS policies.
• Strong computer and internet skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Superior communication and customer service skills.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and medical billing/insurance is helpful; the ability to learn and apply new information quickly.
