Position Summary

Uniguest is seeking a HR Director, Americas to join a Human Resources (HR) team that’s all about empowering our people. In this position, you’ll be part of a strategic global HR team focused on creating a positive employee experience. You will oversee HR for the Americas managing a talented team of three HR and payroll professionals focused on talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll, benefits, employee engagement, employee development, organizational development and change management.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this position will also be directly involved in supporting M&A, integration planning, and onboarding of newly acquired organizations in the US or Canada. Whether it’s M&A planning, organizational change, performance management, restructuring, or other change management projects, you’ll help plan and execute these initiatives in your region. Primary Responsibilities
• Relationship Building, Coaching, Counseling: You will partner with leaders and employees to coach, counsel, advise, and be a trusted advisor to leaders and team members in your region.
• Payroll, Benefits, Compliance: You’ll manage the US and Canadian payrolls and benefits and ensure these basics are done right always ensuring we are in compliance with the many laws in our various 29 states, plus Canada.
• Employee Engagement & Retention: You’ll collaborate to develop and manage programs that make employees feel appreciated and supported, and you’ll run our annual employee survey and help to develop and implement action plans.
• Performance & Merit: You’ll lead the performance review and merit processes in consultation with the global HR team and your leaders in the Americas.
• People Development: You’ll partner with leadership and team members to create learning opportunities, career development, and succession planning and you’ll build and deliver leadership training to help our leaders succeed. You’ll also manage our annual compliance training.
• Culture Ambassador: You’ll create and nurture our EPIC company culture that is all about inclusivity working to create connections in our remote distributed work environment. This means event planning both remote and the occasional on site.
• Strategic Partnerships: You'll collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.

Experience & Skills
• Experience: You understand HR from every angle you’ve done M&A and lots of change management.
• People Skills: You have exceptional relationship building skills -whether it’s coaching managers, having tough conversations, or inspiring the team.
• Strategic Thinker: You can see the big picture and connect the dots between HR initiatives and overall business goals.
• Details & Execution: It’s not all strategy, you can focus on the details to make sure everything is done correctly, implemented flawlessly, and completed on time. You are willing to do tasks yourself.
• HR Systems: You are tech savvy and can maximize use our of ADP HRIS system (ADP experience preferred).
• Empathy: You know that HR is all about people. You have a deep understanding of human behavior and the ability to navigate tricky situations with tact.
• Adaptability: You’re comfortable adjusting and thriving in a rapidly changing environment.
• HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) are a bonus.

Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in HR, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent military/professional experience.
