This role involves writing for Curveball, our sports-adjacent pop culture vertical, covering the side of sports that lives off the field.
ā¢ Write sports-adjacent pop culture and athlete lifestyle stories
ā¢ Cover celebrity relationships, viral moments, controversies, and cultural conversations tied to sports
ā¢ Create timely, trend-driven content optimized specifically for the NewsBreak audience
Qualifications
ā¢ Proven experience writing sports-adjacent pop culture or athlete lifestyle content
ā¢ Strong understanding of NewsBreak's audience and content style
ā¢ Ability to write fast, clear, engaging stories with strong hooks
ā¢ Comfort working in a deadline-driven environment
ā¢ Familiarity with digital publishing best practices
Requirements
ā¢ Previous experience writing for NewsBreak or similar aggregation platforms (nice to have)
ā¢ Background in sports, entertainment, or celebrity news (nice to have)
