Job Description
We are looking for dedicated Pharmacy Technicians to join our team remotely in the EST Timezone. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for reviewing Prior Authorizations for coverage determination. You will either approve or deny these requests and then send them to a Pharmacist for final review. This role involves handling all health plans and all types of medications with minimal phone work, primarily outbound if required.
Responsibilities
Track coverage determination requests.
Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers.
Approve requests based on criteria and enter decisions into the PBM system.
Notify providers and members of decision outcomes.
Respond to client inquiries.
Refer requests for specialty drugs.
Contact providers for additional information.
Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls, if needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in retail pharmacy, call center, PBM, hospital, or specialty pharmacy.
Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance health plans.
Must be a registered pharmacy technician in the state you reside in and nationally certified.
