HealthStream prohibits employment practices that discriminate against individual employees or groups of employees on the basis of age, color, disability, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, veteran or military status, genetic information or any other category deemed protected by state and/or federal law.Position OverviewThe Associate Technical Writer will create and maintain documentation to support effective customer utilization of HealthStream products, with guidance from senior team members and following established standards.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.Develops and prepares technically accurate, grammatically correct, and user-friendly documentation for assigned HealthStream products.Ensures documentation is consistent with established formatting guidelines, requiringminimalrevision.Manages and maintains an inventory of all documentation, including archiving prior versions and tracking active documents.Collaborates with product experts, analysts, instructional designers, trainers, and other key stakeholders to design and develop high-quality customer-facing materials.Maintains online Help systems.Collaborates with other HealthStream teams.Develops adjunct training and support materials.Reviews and provides recommended revisions of training and support materials created by other team members and key stakeholders.Manages multiple projects while meeting stated deadlines.Provides technical writing support/consultation to other HealthStream departments when requested.Participates in team, department, product, division, and corporate meetings.Actively contributes to the attainment of assigned quarterly HIP goals and initiatives.Exemplify HealthStream values daily.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequirementsBachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Linguistics, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field.Minimum 1-3 years technical writing or related experience.Experience developing documentation or related reference, instructional, or training/educational materials.Familiarity with style guides and industry standards, with the ability to follow established guidelines.Familiarity with technical writing or documentation software, such as MadCap Flare.Experience with project management tools like Smartsheets or eLearning authoring tools is a plus.QualificationsMastery of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, usage, spelling, and rules of composition.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to collect data and define problems. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
