About Us

Executive Functions, Inc., dba EF Specialists (EFS), is one of California’s most comprehensive executive function coaching organizations. We are a Nonpublic Agency (NPA) certified to partner with school districts to design programs tailored to individual student needs while also providing private coaching support to families.

Our mission is to guide middle and high school students in overcoming procrastination, disorganization, and anxiety by teaching time management, prioritization, and communication skills so they feel motivated, prepared, and empowered.

We provide one-on-one remote coaching that helps students strengthen organization, planning, self-advocacy, and accountability. Our team collaborates closely with families, educators, and districts to support students facing academic and executive functioning challenges.

Position Overview: Head of Coaching and Lead Specialist

We are seeking an experienced educator/coach to serve as our Head of Coaching—the coach-of-coaches and the leader responsible for maintaining coaching quality at scale.

This role supports and develops coaches through consultation, observation-based feedback, and structured reviews, helping each coach grow in confidence and effectiveness while managing a full caseload.

In partnership with Operations, the Head of Coaching:
• Monitors specialists to ensure balance and coaching quality
• Serves as the escalation point of contact
• Helps maintain a consistent, high-quality client experience
• Trains and mentors new coaches using the EFS Coaching Playbook
• Develops and implements group coaching programming
• work with your own student caseload (1:1)

This is a fast-paced environment. Families often come to us under stress and urgency. Success in this role requires flexibility, optimism, and confidence in helping students get back on track.

Key Responsibilities
• Coach a minimum of 5 active clients (private pay, district, or SDP)
• Support onboarding, mentoring, and development of new coaches
• Provide structured feedback aligned with the Director of Operations guidance
• Ensure family team meetings are occurring as appropriate
• Assist with program development, including group coaching models
• Collaborate across teams to maintain service quality and continuity

Coaching Responsibilities

Work directly with students to build critical life skills, including:
• Task initiation
• Planning and organization
• Time management and reducing procrastination
• Communication and self-advocacy with teachers
• Academic transitions (middle school → high school → college readiness)

Schedule Expectations

This is a part-time position and the work follows the academic calendar (mid-August through mid-June), with lighter summer and school break scheduling

Availability for work with Students -
• Available for student sessions 3 days per week between 3:00–8:00 PM PST
• One 4-hour weekend availability block (Saturday or Sunday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM PST)
• Participate in monthly Tuesday team meetings (excluding school breaks)
• Work follows the academic calendar (mid-August through mid-June), with lighter summer scheduling
• Typical days include remote coaching sessions, reviewing student progress, updating plans, documenting outcomes, and collaborating with team members.

Availability for work w/Staff, Partners, and parents
• M-F as needed for meetings that include
• Supporting team members
• Consulting with parents
• Matching new students with team members
• Meeting with leadership to share updates
• available for monthly Tuesday team meetings at 11 a.m. (excluding school breaks)

Education, Certification, or Licensure (One Preferred)
• Special Education Credential
• Pupil Personnel Services Credential (School Counseling or Psychology)
• Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker
• Licensed Educational Psychologist
• Licensed Psychologist
• Master’s degree in education, psychology, counseling, behavior analysis, human development, social work, rehabilitation, or a related field

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
