Group Benefit Solutions (GBS) Underwriting Summer Internship Program

Support New York Life’s Group Benefit Solutions by evaluating risk, setting premium rates, and impacting financial results as an Underwriting Summer Intern. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Participate in training sessions to learn the fundamentals of underwriting • Engage in one-on-one mentorship with a local underwriter and network with senior management • Assess risk dynamics on real underwriting cases and contribute to sales goals and financial results • Attend speaker series hosted by New York Life leaders from Finance and Underwriting functions About You The company is looking for candidates who have: • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher • High comfort level with math and numbers • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel • An interest in pursuing a career in underwriting • Customer-centric mindset • Authorization to work in the U.S. (no employment-based immigration sponsorship or OPT/CPT eligibility) Compensation & Benefits • Hourly wage of $21 • Nonexempt, overtime eligible • Eligibility for annual discretionary bonus • Potential participation in an incentive program Training & Development • 10-week internship program providing exposure to underwriting profession • One-on-one mentorship with local underwriters • Engagement opportunities with senior management and networking events • Routine speaker series with leaders from Finance and Underwriting Career Progression • Opportunity to assess fit for underwriting career through hands-on experience • Potential for full-time hiring following internship based on performance • Growth within one of New York Life’s fastest growing Group Benefit Solutions underwriting hubs How to Apply Submit your application ensuring you meet the eligibility criteria, including U.S. work authorization.
