Graphic Designer I

The Graphic Designer I position involves creating and designing branded marketing materials, collaborating with marketing managers, and managing design projects to meet the university's standards.ResponsibilitiesConceptualizing, designing, and producing print, digital, and multimedia projects consistent with Utah State’s brand standards and missionCommunicating and working with marketing managers to identify clients’ needs and engage in decision-making processes to implement proper creative and design strategies for projectsParticipate in developing creative strategy for marketing campaigns through brainstorming, meetings, conceptual mockups, vision boards, and other resources based on a project's needsWorking with others on the design and marketing team to ensure all production materials are properly prepared for the vendor(s)Using best practices with file management and organization in workflow management software and file storage archive databaseManaging and completing assigned projects with minimal supervision while meeting deadlinesCoordinating design and marketing creative award competition entriesKeeping up on current industry design standards, trends and professional development while supporting and developing the design team’s collective skillsetsAccepting other general design responsibilities as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experiencePosition requires a flexible work schedule for occasional projects that may go beyond traditional work hours as neededMust have a knowledge of and experience with visual design theories, including the principles and elements of design, print and digital layout best practices, color theory, and typographyMust be current and skilled in the utilization of Adobe Creative Cloud with an emphasis on InDesign, Photoshop, and IllustratorMust possess a basic understanding of printing and pre-press requirements for preparing artwork for productionMust be detail-oriented and have excellent design and communication skills with meticulous attention to detailBenefitsExcellent benefitsCompany OverviewThe Heravi Peace Institute empowers USU students, faculty, and staff by cultivating the necessary character, knowledge, and skills to constructively transform conflict and build peace.
