Graduate Aviation Planner (Available 2026)

Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. They are seeking a Graduate Aviation Planner to perform airport capacity assessments, develop master plans, and conduct data-driven analysis to support planning studies. Responsibilities Perform airport capacity/demand assessment for planning studies using various tools, methods and techniques Develop and review airport master plans, program of requirements and conceptual / schematic layouts for airport facilities including passenger terminals, aircraft apron and support facilities Conduct analytical simulation/modeling, interpret results and identify solutions Undertake data driven analysis to gather insights including research-based projects Rationalize complex buildings to provide simple passenger flows, excellent passenger experience and improve operational efficiency Resolve complex phasing issues to realize planning concepts Collect and collate data from surveys, benchmark studies and other sources as needed in support of planning studies Assist in preparation of reports, presentations and deliverables including illustrations, tables and drawings to communicate complex technical ideas through a 2D and 3D graphical and visual approach for a wide range of clients and stakeholders Generate and contribute to planning and operational reports and provide advice to planning and design teams, airports and airline clients Integrate sustainable development practices into all our work Project work includes many of the most significant complex airport developments in the US and globally Some travel may be required in the longer term Skills Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Civil/Industrial/Operations Research/Transport engineering or other relevant disciplines Airport/aviation and transportation related interest and/or experience Knowledge/experience of analytical techniques and tools including spreadsheet, database and simulation modeling Knowledge/experience working in Microstation and/or AutoCAD Proficiency in bolthires Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Demonstrated strong numeric analytical competence and strategic thinking capability Good written and verbal communication skills essential for team-based working Excellent planning and organization skills and attention to detail Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future Python or R or similar programming skills preferable but not essential Benefits Health and welfare security Paid time off for rest and renewal Global profit share scheme Global Profit Share Plan (paid bi-annually) 401(k) plan with up to 10% company match Company Overview Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.It was founded in 1946, and is headquartered in London, England, GBR, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.
