About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

The Pixel System Software team is responsible for the core software running on Pixel Phones. Our team comprises the major software subsystems such as core bring-up, performance, power, graphics, display, touch and haptics, sensors etc.

The Technical Program Manager is responsible for managing planning and execution of software security and privacy features on Pixel devices. Everything from working with cross-functional security teams to product management teams to external Pixel partners to make PIxel devices the most secure of all mobile devices.

Responsibilities
• Plan and execute security, privacy, and content protection features on Pixel devices.
• Drive technical as well as data analysis of issues. Recommend a way forward, representing the team in cross-functional and leadership forums.
• Focus on the user experience and advocate for the Android/Pixel quality bar internally, as well as with internal and external partners to ensure we maintain a great product.
• Seek out all necessary schedule inputs and develop a defensible plan for software development release and keep the team tracking to it. Spot, track, and communicate key risks and help identify solutions to mitigate those.
• Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and externally (customers, partners, etc.), and escalate issues as necessary.
