GIS Intern, Remote

Overview: Job Summary Centerline is seeking a GIS Intern to assist with project-based engineering of Fiber Optic Networks across New England and beyond. This internship will augment your knowledge of spatial systems and provide you with an excellent opportunity for real-world GIS experience in private industry. Position: Remote Pay rate: $17.50/hr. Start/End: Jan-May 2026 Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week What Will You Do: • GIS vector data editing in ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online; introductory spatial analysis and/or query operations; mobile GIS backend data operations; development of basic workflows and scripts. • We are willing to accommodate flexible schedules and remote work locations, with preference to New England locations and 40 hours/week through the summer months. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. What You Will Need: • At least two years of experience in GIS-related coursework • Relevant ESRI ArcGIS experience • Familiarity with ArcPro/ArcGIS Online • Spatial Analysis experience • Python, Visual Basic, SQL coding experience • Experience in mobile GIS or GPS devices, applications and workflows • Knowledge of cartographic principles and map design • Ability to work well independently Work Environment Requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer and/or face-to-face contact, vision to monitor, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier and fax machines regularly during the course of work.
