Commslayer is a SaaS company looking for a full-stack Ruby on Rails engineer to help expand an existing SaaS product with new features. Commslayer is a helpdesk tailored for ecommerce merchants who use Shopify and provides ticketing through various channels with advanced AI automation. has a track record of shipping web apps in Ruby on Rails in the last 3+ yearshas experience with Vue.js and likes frontend workcan take a product product spec and make decisions on their own - we like devs who are not afraid to make product decisionshumble, can mentor others, both provide and receive direction and is always willing to share what they learnIs willing to work in the evenings for min. 2 days per week (our CTO is located in US, Boston)

Where we are and how we work:
We are a remote team all over the globe but our development team is mainly working during Western European working hours. We expect you to be able to do at least 2 evening shifts per week.We provide extreme flexibility but it also means ownership: you own the results of your workOur work language is EnglishWe are used to async communication over Slack but also have regular weekly meetings to sync up.Our tech stack is Ruby / Vue.js / Tailwind / SQL / GitWe optimize for developer happiness. For us, this is not a sprint but a marathon.
Location
Indonesia. We've two team members located in Indonesia and are looking to expand our team in the area. This is a remote, work-from-home opportunity. You need to be willing to do a night shift from time to time as our CTO is in Boston, US.
Compensation
Compensation for this position is USD 2000-2600 per month with paid time off ($24,000-$31,000 annually). The compensation varies with experience and skill set. This is a full-time position: you will be employed through Remote.com as a contractor.
Work culture
Working for Commslayer doesn't feel like the usual office or startup gig: we are a small (but mighty) distributed group across 4 different countries with our own way of working. We highly encourage written (long-form) communication and documenting things on Linear and generally don't like tight fixed schedules. We avoid setting tight deadlines or using word ASAP to keep a calm workspace. There is not really much management or oversight, we expect you to know how to manage yourself. We prioritize shipping and results above how or when you do the work.
