About the Company



Hyatt Place East End is looking for an experienced and motivated Front Office Manager. This position offers a great opportunity to grow within our company. Hyatt Place East End is a select-service hotel with a resort atmosphere that offers 100 guest rooms located on the Peconic River.



About the Role



This position is responsible for assisting the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in maintaining the profitable management of the hotel. This position will oversee overall operations of the Guest Service area which includes: Front Desk, Reservations, as well as, provide support to the Food & Beverage and Housekeeping Departments as needed. Candidate will maintain customer satisfaction and brand standards at the front desk and provide guests with friendly and attentive service. Focus on guest satisfaction, employee training, and maintaining the standards set, is of the utmost importance. The position entails active involvement in all areas of Guest Service. The Front Office Manager is expected to have direct involvement with guests and employees. This is a hands-on position that requires active, vigorous leadership.



Responsibilities



  • Must be flexible in hours, days worked and long hours sometimes required.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal/leadership skills, professional caring approach toward employees.
  • "Guest First" Approach.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, coworkers, vendors and guests.
  • Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Experience in cash handling, accounting, computer systems - both point-of-sale and office administration.
  • Assist the Assistant General Manager with recruiting, managing, training and developing the Front Office team.
  • Monitor staffing levels to meet cover business demands.
  • Motivate, coach and counsel all Front Office personnel according to hotel standards.
  • Conduct walk-throughs of public areas and guestrooms to ensure that cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  • Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems.
  • Work closely with Rooms Division including Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure efficient and effective operations and to continuously improve service.


Qualifications



  • At least 3 years of progressive experience as a Front Office Supervisor or Manager and or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hospitality Diploma or College degree preferred.


Preferred Skills



  • Additional language ability preferred.
