About Us:Start date: ImmediateResiQuant is revolutionizing how the world understands the built environment exposed to natural disasters. From earthquakes to wildfires and hurricanes, the impact of climate change and urbanization is intensifying—and yet, decision-makers are forced to rely on fragmented, static, and often inaccurate property data. That changes with ResiQuant. We are building the world's first agentic AI that fuses structural engineering with advanced computer vision to transform the world's NatCat-exposed industries, starting with the $200B property insurance industry. Our platform automates submission processing and enriches data, enabling insurers to elevate underwriting precision and productivity.Trusted by leading US property insurers, ResiQuant serves as the definitive source of property intelligence—ensuring that portfolios dynamically reflect evolving building codes, ordinances, and local construction practices, providing actionable insights for informed decision-making.Fueled by an unrelenting focus on protecting lives, property, and livelihoods, ResiQuant is building the future of property risk intelligence at a time when it has never been more crucial.About You:You're a designer obsessed with the details—not for the sake of polish alone, but because you understand that every interaction, every piece of friction, every micro-moment adds up to trust. You believe that the right design can change how an entire industry thinks, operates, and makes decisions. At ResiQuant, that's the opportunity in front of you. We're building the AI that will reshape how the world understands physical risk—starting with our growing base of top-tier insurance carriers. These are not casual users. They're executives, underwriters, and catastrophe modeling teams making high-stakes decisions about coverage, pricing, and exposure across trillions of dollars in assets. They're moving fast. They need clarity. And they will judge the quality of our insights by the quality of the interface. As our first and founding product designer, you'll be responsible for how this all feels—from the information architecture that guides a new underwriter, to the animations that bring a portfolio risk shift to life. You'll take technically complex data and render it simple, elegant, and actionable. You'll create AI-driven workflows that feel obvious and intuitive—because you've sweat the edge cases, asked the hard questions, and rebuilt it until it was right. This isn't a role for someone looking to maintain or refine—it's for someone who wants to define: the design system, the product sensibility, and the visual identity of a category-defining AI platform. You'll own the surface area of the company—from product to brand to web—and build the design standards others will follow. This is design not as decoration, but as direction.Key ResponsibilitiesCore Product & UX DesignOwn end-to-end user experience design—from problem definition to shipped featureMap complex AI workflows for underwriting into intuitive, progressive interactionsDesign product experiences across onboarding, dashboards, workflows, reports, notifications, and moreRapidly prototype and test design hypotheses with internal teams and insurance end usersDefine interaction patterns, state logic, edge cases, and UX documentation for engineering handoffVisual Design & Brand ExpressionBuild and maintain a scalable component-based design system in FigmaDesign data visualizations, iconography, and interface patterns for clarity, speed, and trustShape the company's visual identity across product, website, presentations, sales enablement, and socialOwn and enforce visual consistency across all digital and physical brand touchpointsCreate design standards, guidelines, and quality controls for future contributorsDesignOps & CollaborationPartner closely with engineering to define specs, implementation flows, and QA feedback loopsCollaborate with founders and sales on roadmap planning and user story definitionEstablish internal design review, feedback, and documentation workflowsDefine future team processes as we scale: design sprints, critiques, research cadence, etc.Guide (and eventually hire/mentor) junior designers, contract contributors, and creative partnersRequirementsCore Requirements5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably for data-rich, enterprise, or B2B SaaS productsPortfolio that shows full-stack ownership: user flows, wireframes, polished UIs, and live product screenshotsMastery of Figma and modern design systems practicesDemonstrated success designing interfaces for technical or multi-role users (e.g., dashboards, workflows, analytics, or internal tools)Strong UX writing instincts—clear labels, human copy, and helpful guidance throughout workflowsExperience conducting or leveraging user research and customer feedback to drive design decisionsHighly comfortable collaborating directly with engineers, founders, and salesComfort designing and managing marketing websites (especially in Webflow or Framer)Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay AreaBonus PointsExperience with data visualization design or financial modeling UIsPrior startup or 0→1 product experienceBrand design, iconography, or motion/interaction craftPassion for AI, risk, resilience, climate tech, or insurance innovationWhat Will Make You Stand OutDesign Thinking & Product CraftObsessive care for interaction quality—how things respond, behave, load, and informProven ability to work through ambiguity and find signal fastYou've owned design systems that scaled across multiple product surfacesYou've worked with technical, analytical user bases and designed for speed, accuracy, and trustYou think like a PM when prioritizing—and like an engineer when collaboratingStrategic & Mission-DrivenYou want to define a new category—not inherit someone else'sYou care about systems thinking, long-term scalability, and design as leverageYou're energized by working on hard, real-world problems with visible impactYou care deeply about building tools that make people smarter and more resilientYou believe design isn't just part of the product—it is the productWhy Join ResiQuantYou will define the brand, the design system, and the product experience that shape how trillions of dollars in property risk are assessed, priced, and managed across the insurance industry. You will help create an entirely new category of structural risk intelligence—combining deep science, AI, and design into tools that change how organizations build climate resilience. You will see your work live fast.
