Forensic Accounting Leader

We are seeking a seasoned, senior level forensic accountant/expert with ten+ years of experience to assist with forensic accounting and matrimonial litigation support engagements within our national valuation and litigation practice. This role requires working in project teams on marital dissolution/marital property, asset tracing, income and expense analysis, commercial damages and other dispute consulting projects. The ideal candidate is a professional who has successfully served as an expert in high-net-worth divorce cases and is ready to take on a leadership position within a growing practice. Effective candidates will be skilled at delivering rigorous financial analysis, communicating effectively under scrutiny and exceling in high pressure litigation environment. In addition, the selected candidate will work with team members on case strategy, project plans, strategic recommendations, document management (file review, organization, and inventory), data analysis, modeling, and report writing, including development of accompanying supporting documentation and demonstrative exhibits, client communications and meetings, settlement discussions and negotiations, deposition and trial preparation, organization of workpapers, and management of production requests. The selected candidate will be responsible for adherence to client deadlines and court-imposed scheduling orders. This senior level role will also provide oversight of junior staff, including delegation of tasks, review of work product, feedback for corrections and changes on assignments, training, and ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage multiple forensic accounting and litigation support projects for divorce, separation and family law matters with minimal supervision • Perform advanced forensic financial analysis including asset tracing, lifestyle analysis, cash flow analysis, income available for support, related tax calculations, and settlement structuring; and to a lesser extent, assist with damages calculations, commercial disputes and business valuation. • Assist in document production, research, financial modeling, and preparation of testifying expert and rebuttal reports for client engagements • Work closely with testifying experts and other team members performing forensic and valuation functions and testimony preparation • Review formatting and contents of reports, schedules, and deliverables; including but not limited to, checking source documents and checking for mathematical and formula accuracy • Ensure work product compliance with jurisdiction rules/procedures and adherence to both company and professional standards • Assist the practice in building and maintaining relationships with current and prospective clients through excellent client service and timely deliverables • Mentor and train junior team members, and assist in the development and presentation of training materials • Ability to travel as needed for client, business development and/or corporate events Qualifications: • Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or finance • Preferred certifications: CPA; CFF; CFA; and ASA/CVA/ABV • Minimum of ten years' of forensic accounting experience in New York and/or Connecticut cases • Seven plus years' experience in matrimonial litigation and forensics highly desired, but will consider forensic accountants who have asset tracing experience with openness to applying this skill to matrimonial litigation • Training in divorce mediation and collaborative law highly desired • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses to judges, attorneys, and clients • Experience in discovery, document management and asset tracing tools and software applications highly desired Apply tot his job
