FinOps Engineer
StubHub is on a mission to redefine the live event experience on a global scale. They are seeking a FinOps Engineer to support the optimization of cloud costs, monitor usage, and implement financial governance for StubHub’s technology infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesWrite and optimize SQL queries to extract and analyze financial data from cloud billing systemsAnalyze cloud usage and spending patterns using AWS services such as Athena, Glue, and QuickSightDevelop and maintain dashboards and visualizations in Quicksight and Grafana to monitor and alert on cloud cost metricsMonitor and report on Microsoft Azure resource usage and costsConsolidate and report on cost data from vendors including Snowflake, OpenAI, Anthropic and moreCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving strategies and forecasting modelsDevelop, document, and maintain policy and procedures for accurate cost attributionCustomize and update monthly cost reporting for engineering department leadsAutomate FinOps processes to improve efficiency and accuracyContribute to the monthly and annual infrastructure cost forecastPartner with engineering leaders to create cost budgets and forecasts for new projects and initiativesSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)1-2 years of experience in cloud financial operations or a related roleProficiency with AWS services, including Athena, Glue, and QuickSightUnderstanding of AWS Cost and usage reportsHands-on experience with Grafana or other tools for creating dashboards and visualizationsStrong SQL skills for querying and analyzing large datasetsFamiliarity with Microsoft Azure cost management and monitoring toolsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholdersCertifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) or Azure (e.g., Azure Fundamentals)Experience with cloud cost optimization tools or frameworksKnowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automationStrong understanding of public clouds and infrastructure fundamentalsBenefits401kPremium Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance optionsUnlimited Flex Time OffPaid time offPaid parental leaveCompany OverviewStubHub is a ticket marketplace where users buy and sell tickets for sports, concerts, theater, and live events.
