Position Overview...
As a Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams through all stages of the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for managing and directing initiatives to ensure tasks are completed on time, within budget, and meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional teams across all project lifecycle stages.
Manage and direct initiatives to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
Oversee single major projects approved by the FedEx Ground (FXG) Mission Approval Committee or strategic corporate initiatives.
Handle multiple projects of varying sizes.
Adhere to FXG assignment requirements and the Everest global improvement process.
Ensure all projects impacting FXG operations follow the FXG Organizational Change Management (OCM) framework.
Define, authorize, and document project scope and management sponsors.
Develop, manage, and update project plans to meet defined requirements.
Escalate project issues to upper management.
Create and manage project schedules by defining tasks, durations, sequences, and needed resources.
Estimate project spending, input on budgeting, and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure changes in scope are reviewed and approved by the project team and sponsors.
Define and track success and accuracy metrics to ensure quality standards.
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure all members have clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
Communicate project status to team members and sponsors consistently.
Provide effective communication and training to all impacted stakeholders.
Manage the procurement of services or products to meet project deliverables in adherence with FXG policy.
Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure business requirement specifications (BRS) and FedEx Work Requests (FWRs) support project business goals.
Collaborate with vendors and clients as required by the project.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business, Finance, or a related field with at least three (3) years of experience in a technical or professional environment, including a minimum of two (2) years leading cross-functional projects.
Alternatively, a Masters degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business, Finance, or a related field with three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a technical or professional environment, including two (2) years leading cross-functional projects.
Experience with software tools such as Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of management.
Strong presentation skills to facilitate training and deliver information sessions.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, plan resources, and meet deadlines.
Ability to identify and solve problems using sound judgment and data-based analysis.
Knowledge of standards, practices, policies, and procedures related to operations.
Experience with modeling, SAS, Agile project management methodology, data analytics, process improvements, root cause analysis, and problem-solving.
