Job Summary of FedEx Freight Receiving Clerk:
Efficiently moving and processing cargo within a FedEx facility will constitute your primary role as a FedEx Freight Receiving Clerk. This means taking charge of shipments, ensuring their accurate handling, sorting, loading, and unloading. The flow of goods depends on your ability to execute your role seamlessly, and to support successful logistics... operations at FedEx.
Responsibilities of FedEx Freight Receiving Clerk:
Ā Execute the transfer of cargo with precise motorized and manual equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts.
Ā Review the freight's documentation, including type, weight, and hazardous materials, to ensure consistency with up-to-date electronic or manual records.
Ā Take the necessary measures to prevent damage to transported goods by using proper tools and equipment, such as ropes, pallets, and straps to secure them.
Ā Restoring or repairing damaged cargo without delay can avert any additional losses.
Ā Thorough checking and attestation of reports and documents are helpful in avoiding errors and misinterpretation of information.
Ā Give aid to clients in the proper documentation of their freight for shipment.
Ā Be willing to perform hostling duties if necessary.
Ā Always act in accordance with both legal regulations and company policies and procedures.
Ā Perform whatever tasks are necessary.
Qualification of FedEx Freight Receiving Clerk:
Ā High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Ā Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ā Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or fork lift operations preferred.
Ā If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
Ā Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
Ā Basic written and verbal communication skills.
Ā Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more.
Ā Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift.
Ā Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
Ā Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.
Working Condition of FedEx Freight Receiving Clerk:
Ā Environmental factors such as harsh weather conditions, toxic fumes, dust particles, excessive noise levels, and vehicular exhaust emissions impact the dock's safety and health standards.
Ā Variations in working hours may occur due to the needs of the operating procedures.
Ā Consistent correspondence with representatives from the service center; high-tempo, deadline-driven.
