Faculty Adjunct Special Education Generalist Grades 7 - 12 (Online, Long Island, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Manhattan, Queens) at Touro University
About the position
Responsibilities
• Teach graduate course sections (on campus and online) in various educational areas.
• Participate in an Adjunct/Full Time Instructors' Learning Community.
• Supervise candidates during clinical practice, if assigned.
• Support program advisement for candidates.
• Uphold the missions and values of Touro College and the Graduate School of Education.
Requirements
• Masters Degree required, earned doctorate preferred, in Curriculum, Instruction, Special Education, or related field.
• Current certification in Special Education.
• Successful classroom teaching experience, grades 7 - 12, of diverse students.
• Successful graduate-level teaching experience, face-to-face and/or online.
• Successful leadership experience.
• Experience in course and program design.
• Successful experience supervising degree candidates in clinical field placements, if assigned for clinical supervision.
• Commitment to culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogy.
• Knowledge of NYSED teacher certification examinations.
Nice-to-haves
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
• Proficiency in online learning platforms including Canvas and Zoom.
