About the Role We are seeking experienced and passionate teachers fluent in Spanish and English to join our community of virtual tutors. As a Spanish speaking tutor, you will have the opportunity to provide online ELA and Math instruction to students across the country, working with small groups and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey. Our tutoring engagements typically last between 14 to 30 weeks, requiring a few hours of commitment during the week. We offer flexible scheduling, allowing you to choose the time slots that work best for you, Mondays through Fridays, between 8a-4p Eastern time. Key Responsibilities Provide virtual small group ELA and Math instruction to students in grades K-12, utilizing your expertise in Spanish and English Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, tailored to the needs of your students Utilize online platforms, such as Google Classroom and Zoom, to deliver high-quality instruction and facilitate student learning Collaborate with our team to ensure seamless communication and effective support for our students Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date on best practices in online tutoring and education Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: Experience teaching in U.S. classrooms, with a focus on ELA and/or Math instruction Comfortable teaching in Spanish and English, with the ability to adapt to the needs of your students Availability during weekdays, 8a-4p Eastern time, with flexibility to accommodate varying schedules Strong working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom, or willingness to learn Experience with remediation, intervention, or small group instruction (desired) SPED or ELL teaching experience (desired) AP course experience (any APs) helpful Active teaching credential (desired) Dedication to advancing equity in schools and promoting educational excellence Essential Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and mutual support Strong technical skills, with the ability to navigate online platforms and utilize digital tools to enhance instruction Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Tutored by Teachers, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our tutors.
